Announces the Successful Launch and Recording of the

"The Cyber Readiness Index 2.0: A Baseline and an Index" 

The Cyber Readiness Index 2.0 examines one hundred twenty-five countries that have embraced, or are starting to embrace, information communications technologies and the Internet and then applies that objective methodology to evaluate each country's commitment to cyber security across seven essential elements.

The successful launch featured an international panel of experts that discussed cyber security preparedness and the Cyber Readiness Index 2.0 methodology, results, and impact. While the Cyber Readiness Index 2.0 launch provided a wealth of information and knowledge, three main take aways can be gleaned from the discussion:

1. The Cyber Readiness Index (CRI) 2.0 highlights that no country is cyber ready. Countries must align their economic visions with their national security priorities.

2. The CRI 2.0 has immense international impact. As Dr. Catherine Lotrionte stated, "Make no mistake about it, this is not an academic question that the CRI 2.0 takes up. The Index doesn't just study the problem, but offers a specific framework for a country to evaluate the strength of its ability to prevent economic erosion from cyber insecurity."

3. The CRI 2.0 provides a blueprint for countries to chart their path towards cyber readiness and maturity. As the international panel brought to light, having a framework in place at the national level may be the most critical starting point for cyber security in the context of international peace and security. This begins with an assessment of the "reality on the ground," which the CRI 2.0 accomplishes.
